1. Why can't the privacy form be filled out online?? 2. Why do you share information with third parties on an opt-out basis, anyway? Allstate doesn't, which may be a deciding factor when I decide whether or not to replace my AAA membership with Allstate road service.
Dear Michael Burden, Thank you for contacting our Member Relations department. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email. I can process your request to opt-out via email. Please provide me with your 16 digit membership your full name and address and I will be happy to complete your request. Regards, Tiffany L. That was one answer out of two questions.
Dear Michael Burden, We are affiliated with other companies that may be of interest to our members. With our members interest in mind we may forward their contact information on to other companies that we feel they may benefit from. AAA Michigan 1 Auto Club Drive Dearborn, MI 48126 (800)AAA-MICH
One of the checkboxes is to opt out of sharing information with NON-affiliated 3rd parties. This would seem to indicate that you are SELLING your customer information.
Dear Michael Burden, Thank you for your response. Disclosures may be made to service your account and to provide you with offers for products and services for AAA products and services, and offers for products and services of other companies. Which roughly translates as "We aren't making enough profit from your membership, so we're going to sell your information to marketers so they can harass you. If enough people forget to opt out, the CEO might just get that new addition on the house next year!" Or are you really expecting me to believe that AAA is doing this all for my benefit and that AAA isn't getting a dime from those "non-affiliated third parties"?
